My name is Roxanna Decker LCPC, CADC, and I am a provider with Blue Ridge Counseling Center. I specialize in a client-centered, holistic approach that integrates expressive arts therapy and evidence-based practices to support individuals of all ages. My role is to help clients explore their strengths, foster resilience, and create meaningful change in their lives.
I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Rehabilitation, as well as a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology with a concentration in Creative Arts from the University of Maine at Farmington. In addition, I am a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC) and hold CAMS certification in suicide prevention.
My professional focus is grounded in a client-centered approach, integrating expressive arts therapy to support diverse populations across the lifespan, from children to adolescents to adults and the elderly. I emphasize the importance of staying present and fostering a holistic view of well-being, recognizing the deep connection between thoughts and feelings. My work draws from solution-focused, cognitive-behavioral, narrative, and humanistic therapies to empower individuals in their healing journey and promote personal growth.
I bring a diverse professional background to my work, including four years of experience facilitating peer groups for foster parents and one year as a case manager prior to pursuing my Master’s Degree. During my graduate training, I completed both my practicum and internship with Blue Ridge Counseling Center, where I gained extensive hands-on experience. I have been employed with the agency since 2024, continuing to provide counseling services to clients across the lifespan.
