Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counseling
I am a (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a (LADC) Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor, and a (CCS) Certified Clinical Supervisor. What this all means is I am licensed by the State of Maine to provide Mental Health Counseling and Substance Abuse and Addiction Treatment. I am also licensed by the State of Maine to provide supervision to other providers in this field.
I have a Masters Degree in Social Work from the University of New England and an undergraduate Bachelor Degree in Rehabilitation from the University of Maine at Farmington.
I have worked with a diverse population of people over the 20 years working in the field. I provide help to people struggling with issues of depression, anxiety, grief and loss, stress management, anger management, challenges with sobriety from alcohol and other chemical use. I also help people work through the challenges associated with a traumatic event and other (PTSD) post traumatic stress disorder.
I enjoy working with people of all ages, from 8 to 88, and have given helpful treatment tools to people along all walks of life. One thing I can share is all people struggle with something. Depression and the other concerns described above do not know socio-economic differences. People are people and we all struggle from time to time; I have the privilege to work with people and I have found, counseling can help.
